Amie’s interest in classical music started at 4 years of age as she was pretending to play the violin using a toy guitar and a fairy wand, but it took another twelve years until she had her very first cello lesson to realise that this was a great passion of hers. Through the cello and the youth orchestra in her home town, she got to explore the world of classical music and has not left it since. Amie started taking singing lessons at about the same time but was only doing jazz until she was 20 when she decided that opera was the ultimate medium for her to express herself.
This summer Amie performed the role of Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel in production by British Youth Opera and Silent Opera at Opera Holland Parks's theatre. In 2019 she performed the role of Lily with the BBC Concert Orchestra at Grange Park Opera in their production of Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. Her repertoire stretches from Monteverdi’s Ottavia ( L’Incoronazione di Poppea) and Mozart roles such as Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Annio (La Clemenza di Tito) to Bizet’s Carmen and Britten’s Lucretia. Besides opera, Amie has a passion for art song and especially by Swedish composers such as Stenhammar and Nystroem.
Amie graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in 2019 where she was generously supported by the school through Anglo-Swedish Society. She now lives in Stockholm where she recently graduated from the Stockholm University College of Opera where she studied the role of Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and the title role in Bizet's Carmen.
